Brief Biography

Family: Felix Guzman and Jane of Aza (parents)

Anthony : brother, became a diocesan priest
Mannes: brother, joined the Order.

Place of birth: Calereuga, Spain.

Education: 6yrs under the tutelage of his uncle priest (liturgical studies.
14 yrs went to Palencia for theology, medicine, law.
Later he went on to latin, grammar, logic.
19yrs Dominic concentrated on theology
24yrs entered the Canons Regular at the cathedral
church at Osma.
25yrs ordained priest.
served as sacristan, liturgist.
was appointed subprior.
Mission: 1203, accompanied Bishop Diego to Denmark. Came into contact with the Catharists for the first time.
1206, joined preaching mission with Bishop Diego.
